Caren Van Wye Herrod and Amanda Van Wye Family Line

Caren and Amanda are cousins. They indicated that their grandfather was Thurlow Van Wye, who was married to Edith and had a brother named Frank. From that I researched through my Ancestry.com account and found the following:

According to the following 1940 census link: http://www.archives.com/1940-census/thurlow-van-wye-ks-2934758 – Thurlow was born about 1920 in Woodson, Kansas. Thurlow’s father was Frank Finley Van Wye (b 04/22/1884 d 07/21/1951 in Woodson, Kansas) – http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GSln=Van+Wye&GSiman=1&GScty=49631&. There is a James Finley Van Wye that died 07/29/1933 buried in the same cemetery, which I think is Thurlow’s grandfather. I think Mabel M (Livick) (b 03/15/1889 d 02/05/1943) is Thurlow’s mother. Mary Mollie Van Wye (b 1860 d 06/10/1892, listed as wife of James F Van Wye, may be Thurlow’s grandmother.

James F (Finley) Vanwye, grandfather I believe of Thurlow, born 1851 or 1852 in Elizabethtown, Bartholomew, Indiana. A daughter, Alta, born 1888 is listed on the 1910 census http://www.mocavo.com/James-F-Vanwye-B1852-Yates-Center-Ward-3-Woodson-Kansas-1910-United-States-Census/05207116794395186995. In the 1860 census: http://www.mocavo.com/1860-United-States-Census/126207/005165814/445#row-28 is listed as the son of Thomas and Maria Vanwye.

Thomas Vanwye, born about 1805 (http://www.mocavo.com/1860-United-States-Census/126207/005165814/445#row-28) in Pennsylvania. This has the wife as Maria, but may be Mariah McClure, born about 1808. In Enoch’s 1901 history (this site), paragraph 25, has Marial. Thomas and Maria were married in 1830.

This link may show as insecure, though I went in: https://lois.is-a-geek.net/individual.php?pid=I8214&ged=Indiana%20McCaslins. It shows, as well as Enoch’s 1901 history here, that Thomas is the son of Arthur and Mary James (paragraph 7 of Enoch’s history).

This Arthur, Arthur II, would be my (Ken VanWye) great-great-great grandfather and the great^5 grandfather of Caren and Amanda.
